BARCODE DATABASE CHECKER

We have a tool to help make your barcode scanner entries as painless as possible.

This is a barcode database checker. At some point you will need to add more database entries to the database. This means you will need to add the corresponding video to the video folder. To add a new entry, just add the barcode for your video, the name of the video and the type of loop back you would like to the database.

This can get confusing after a few dozen entries.

For example: lets look at an entry in the database file.

Proper formatting in database should look like this:

There are a few reasons why your scanner might not play once entries are added.

• Improper video spelling (does not match video name in video folder)
• Video does not exist in videos folder.
• Same barcode as another video.
• A combination of any of the above.

In the first row of our example we have “my Vid.mp4” as the video name. In the video folder, the name of the video you want to play is “myVid.mp4”. This will not play. The spelling is off in the database example because it has a space between my Vid.mp4, unlike the video in the videos folder.

To get around this we have a database checker that checks for any errors and lists the errors to be corrected. This removes hours of searching for errors that keep the player from working.

The Checker will come preloaded on all new scanner purchases.

The way the checker works: Download the checker here. Take the 2 files and add them to your USB flash drive that came with the scanner.

Click on the file "Run_CSVChecker.bat". You will be prompted that there is a risk. Accept and run anyway. You will see a screen like this: Click on the button “Check Database” to see errors if any.

In this database there are 13 issues found that will need to be resolved. You will notice that the barcodes are listed in order with duplicates next to each other. There are some highlighted in black. These must be removed since there is more than one error with these.

Click the check boxes in the remove column for these entries. Then Click “update database”. You will see that the black highlighted errors have been removed. Now there will be 11 issues found instead. If you read the issues, it will tell you what to look for. If it is a video file name then it can be edited from the ‘video file’ column. If you need to change the spelling then do so and hit “update database” and it will correct the database for you. Its good practice to have the videos folder open so you can check if the video exist and has the same spelling as the database name. You can correct a few errors at a time and keep updating the database after. The issues will deplete as you do this. If there is a duplicate barcode then 1 of the duplicates MUST be removed.

This checker does not add non existing videos to the videos folder. You will need to do that manually. This checker will create a backup original file within your USB flash drive for future reference. Once all issues are resolved you should have a clean database that performs as it should. A clean database is a happy database. =)

Question: Do you offer credit and allow payment after the season?

Answer: Not at this time. As we expand we might offer this at a later date.

Answer: $3000 minimum. We welcome established dealers and new dealers who might choose to order enough for one stand .

Question: What payment method do you accept?

Answer: We take company check, zelle, credit card (visa, mastercard, discover) or cash. Credit card will have a fee of 3% with a chip read and 3.5% if it has to be manually entered.

Question: Will you hold an order and pay later?

Answer: 50% deposit is required to hold an order. It is very difficult to hold orders for extended periods (2 months or more). We do not have the storage space and most items are sold on first come first serve basis. We do ask that you pick up your order ASAP to ensure fulfillment.

Question: Do you offer any discount pricing?

Answer: Yes. For our established dealers who want to purchase large quantities we do offer a discount. If you think you will be purchasing 25k or more then please contact us for discount details.

Question: What do I need to purchase wholesale from you?

Answer: You will need proof that you are a licensed fireworks reseller. A copy of your retail sales permit is required.Tax ID.
